Voliere Development Company, the developers of Voliere, acquired this intrinsic part of Stellenbosch’s history in 2012. The land was first settled in 1680 when Hans Henske established the farm Patrijse Valleij, growing cereals and grapes on about 68 morgen. The VOC formally granted the farm to him in 1692.
The directors of Voliere Development Company can individually lay claim to decades of development experience and expertise, honed both locally, on the African continent, as well as Europe. Having gained a reputation for being environmentally conscious and receiving numerous accolades for the development of the Arabella Country Estate near Kleinmond in the Western Cape, which is located within an environmentally sensitive Unesco Biosphere Reserve, the directors intend to exercise similar care and dedication to the development of this fine Lifestyle Estate.
Hennie obtained a B,Comm.LLB from the University of Stellenbosch, a HDip. Company Law from WITS and a M.Comm in Tax Law from RAU. | Hennie commenced his articles with Edward Nathan Friedland Inc in 1979 and was admitted as an attorney, notary and conveyancer in 1981. He was a partner in the firm until 1991. In 1992 he joined Bayerische Vereinsbank (Hypo Vereinsbank) in South Africa.
He was a co-developer of the Arabella Golf & Country Estate and served as vice chairman of the Arabella Group in South Africa until 2004, when he joined Bankhaus Wölbern AG in Hamburg, Germany as an independent consultant. He was initially retained to advise the bank on its real estate business. In 2008 he was appointed as CEO of Wölbern Invest AG, an initiator of closed-end real estate funds in Hamburg. In 2009, he was appointed CEO of the distressed Pinnacle Point Group for a period of 18 months, pursuant to his introduction to the group by ABSA on a turnaround project assignment.
Stefan has over 30 years of local and international experience in the hospitality and leisure industry in the fields of hotel management and development management and is widely regarded as the operational expert, across all disciplines within the hospitality and leisure industry.
He was the founding CEO of the Arabella SA Group in 1999, where he was directly responsible for all aspects of the group’s business enterprises.
In 2004 he founded HODEVCO, a development management specialist company, which he has run since, including a period of secondment for 18 months from 2009, when he was appointed COO of the distressed Pinnacle Point Group, pursuant to his introduction to the group by ABSA on a turnaround project assignment.
Paul holds registrations as Professional Engineer (ECSA) and Project Management Professional (PMI-USA), and is a founding Director of the ATVANTAGE Group of Built Environment Professional Services Companies.
With over 30 years of development and project management experience, Paul has overseen the successful realisation of a significant portfolio of property development projects in South Africa and the Indian Ocean islands.
Apart from his project experience, the proven Project Interface Management Methodology developed by ATVANTAGE over the last 16 years has revolutionised project delivery on an international scale and will ensure the successful delivery of Voliere.
RAUBEX Group Ltd is one of South Africa’s leading infrastructure development and construction materials supply groups in the construction industry since, established in 1974. RAUBEX was listed on the JSE in March 2007 and operates across South Africa as well as Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique, Cameroon and Western Australia.
Francois Grobler is the Managing Director and founder of RAUDEV (Pty) Ltd, a property development company founded in 2012 and subsidiary of RAUBEX Group Ltd. A professional civil engineer, project manager and real estate practitioner and with thirty years’ experience, Francois has worked on various projects in the built environment, ranging from large scale private sector initiatives, to public and private sector partnerships. He specializes in residential property development and has built RAUDEV into a one-stop development company undertaking all aspects ranging from land acquisition and development rights, planning and design, marketing and sales through to construction – and property management.
Francois van Breda is a registered professional accountant, specialising in property developments since 2007. With over fourteen years’ experience in complex and large-scale housing developments, Francois specializes in property investment and property management, finance and corporate restructuring, as well as acquisitions in the commercial, industrial, residential, and affordable housing sectors. He joined RAUBEX in 2014 whereafter he was appointed as Commercial Manager of RAUDEV.
